Beatriz Guzman Catena, born in 1972 in Argentina, is a graduate in architecture from the University of Buenos Aires and has a classical training in visual arts. In her last year of studies, she obtained a grant from the National Arts Fund to complete her training in France. There she will study creative processes and social imaginaries. On her return to Argentina, her interest in the transversality between real and represented space, their construction and genesis, enabled her to join the Poïesis Centre of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism of the University of Buenos Aires.
Her work, which has since become essentially pictorial, is marked by the spaces and places of her childhood, the notion of memory articulated around appearance, interweaving, erasure, and reconstruction.
