Nathalie Rochard was born in 1964 in Meudon. Sensitized to the plastic arts at a very young age, she attended MARTENOT courses, then the workshops of the city of Paris where she practised various disciplines: painting, engraving, live model and modelling. She entered the SORNAS school where she obtained her diploma in 1983 as a draughtswoman in applied arts. Faces, interlocking profiles surrounded by a relief are the strong themes of her works that we discover during her first exhibitions. In 2004, she discovered the “Louis Comfort Tiffany technique”. Clear, flat and transparent glass inspires her… she will continue to create faces, bodies and totems with poetry in this material that she chooses to recover and give it a new life. The aim of her work is undoubtedly to instil an awareness of the fragility of the nature that surrounds us.
