A graduate of Olivier de Serre’s applied arts programme in textile creation, Capri has always worked the earth and it was an obvious choice to become an animal sculptor. Observation and modelling are his language. She likes to make the form “rise”, touch earth after touch earth, create movement to engender the living. Her medium is sandstone, which she engulfs as she likes, playing with the colours she projects with a toothbrush and superimposes until she is satisfied. With her curious nature, she searches, explores the fauna, then deciphers and transcribes it with a very personal translation, without forgetting a touch of humour and derision. She poetizes the world in her own way, but in all situations, she dreams and has fun and so do we.
