Georges Noël
Born in Bézier in 1924, Georges Noël was a French painter. Dubuffet, Klee, Pollock and Fontana were the artists who inspired him. His interest in drawing and “automatic writing” led him to invent a medium – composed of powdered pigments, sand and glue – on which to incise his own personal sign language.
HIS PARTICULARITY: The artist superimposes and erases his fields of colours and clusters of signs, evoking layers of memory, emotion and meaning.
